Sorry it's been FOREVER since I've posted an update. I started student teaching at the beginning of September, which has been A LOT of hard work, but very fun. I decided to take a break from lesson planning this weekend and finish the rest of my YWAM application! The big piece I had to get done was an "audition" video. Placement in the school isn't necessarily based on talent, but since the DTS focuses on performing arts, the staff like to have an idea of what students will bring to the table when they come. I locked myself in a practice room this Sunday and decided (mostly to follow copyright laws) to record two songs that I wrote.
The video was the last big thing to get in. Now, all I have left are a few pieces of paperwork, and the whole application will be done! YAY! After the whole kit 'n caboodle gets in, the staff said it should take about two weeks to get officially accepted into the school. Once the next steps come, I'll be sure to keep you all posted!
Blessings,
Maggie
P.S.

Application
I just turned in my DTS application! After a lot of prayer and proofreading, I felt like it was finally ready to submit. Now, I just have to wait to hear back from the staff, then fill out a few last reference and medical forms. After that, I begin the HUGE task of fund raising! YIKES! Good think that nothing is impossible through God, right? ;-} Stay tuned for more updates!

New Blog!
Hi friends! Just wanted to let all of you know that I'm officially going to Australia! For those of you who might be out of the loop, I've been looking into going to a Discipleship Training School with an organization called Youth With a Mission for about two years now. I've been planning to go after graduation in December, but didn't know which base to go to. I've finally decided, and will be going to the Island Breeze Sydney base (http://www.islandbreezesydney.org/) to participate in their Performing Arts DTS. The DTS runs from February 9th-July 24th 2009. The first three months will be classroom-based stuff in Australia, and the last two moths will be a practical outreach in another country. I won't know what our outreach location will be until I get there, but the base has sent teams to France and China in the recent past.
I probably won't be blogging heavily until I get down there, but I'll write occasional posts to keep everyone updated on the preparation process (which involves raising about $8,000! YIKES!) Be praying that the Lord will prepare my heart for what he will be teaching me Down Under, and that he would miraculously provide the funds for me to get there. Look forward to more blogs as I get more info about the trip!
